TOK.tv celebrates 30 million users and brings television on the blockchain

First things first: the great news is that we just reached 30 million users!
But do you know what's behind that number?
Let me tell you the story of a group of sports fans who decided to revolutionize how people watch TV together.

TOK.tv celebrates 30 million users

Back in 2012 we started working on a social network allowing users to live the emotion of a match, even if they were far away.
We started with baseball and football, then moved to soccer.

In an era in which most of the second screen activities consisted in using text, we decided to put the voice at the center of our engagement platform: we wanted to jump from the sofa shouting and being able to hear our friends doing the same.
We were in quest to recreate the fan experience through a digital couch. A noisy one actually: powering indeed game watching with stadium cheers and fun sounds. And bringing friends all together thanks to Social Selfies.
We packed our social engagement suite in the official Juventus app and launched it in 2013.

Actually, Social Selfies were so powerful that when Juventus launched a contest to vote the best ones and show winners faces on the LEDs pitch-side, fans from all over the world put their best smile on their face to share the love for their team.

After Juventus, also Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Italian Serie A TIM and Lega B joined the party.
We added way more features: fans can start videocall, send messages to each other and even ask Tokie - the witty pal who knows everything about soccer - about Juventus and Real Madrid in clubs' official apps.

We then expanded into Asia being integrated into the official Beijing GuoAn, Shanghai Shenhua, Tianjin Teda and Chinese Super League apps.
We also developed and launched as exclusive partner the official Real Madrid and Juventus apps for Chinese fans.

Finally in 2017 two more teams were added: Paris Saint-Germain and the first non-soccer team, the Los Angeles Clippers.

So here we are: 30 million hearts having fun together. How to celebrate something like this?
